Our Story
Founded by Graham Taylor in 1894, Chicago Commons is one of Chicago’s original settlement houses, dedicated to serving immigrants on the city’s northwest side. With a rich history of community engagement, it opened one of the city’s first kindergartens in 1897 and has continually adapted its services to meet the evolving needs of the neighborhoods it serves.
