Our Story

Founded in 2002 by Carmen Velasquez, Sister Sheila Lyne, and Dr. Mary Lebold, the Chicago Bilingual Nurse Consortium (CBNC) is dedicated to supporting internationally educated nurses (IENs) in Chicago and surrounding communities. Over the years, CBNC has evolved, relocating to various facilities and expanding its services to assist IENs in navigating healthcare, immigration, and education systems.

Impact

Since its inception, CBNC has served over 500 internationally educated nurses from more than 52 countries, helping them overcome barriers to licensure and integrate into the Illinois healthcare workforce. This collaboration enhances patient care and safety in the community.

Why Donate?

Donations to CBNC directly support operational costs and provide essential resources for internationally educated nurses, including assistance with testing and licensure preparation fees. Your contribution helps develop a diverse nursing workforce that meets the community's needs.
