About Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding

Founded in 2003 by Cathy Schmidt, Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding (CTR) aims to connect horses with individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the healing power of these magnificent animals. After overcoming the challenges of establishing a nonprofit, CTR welcomed its first therapeutic riding client in 2005. Since then, the organization has expanded its offerings to include hippotherapy, Equine Experiences, and various community programs.
