Our Story
The Severn Riverkeeper Program, founded in 2002 by environmental attorney Fred Kelly, is dedicated to the protection and restoration of the Severn River, classified as an 'impaired' body of water. As part of the National Waterkeepers Alliance, this program has initiated numerous restoration projects and advocacy efforts to improve water quality and habitat in the Severn River watershed.
Impact
Over the past 20 years, the Severn Riverkeeper Program has secured over $14 million for 14 major restoration projects, significantly enhancing the health and ecosystem of the Severn River.
