About the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Association

The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Association is a dedicated, all-volunteer organization established in 1954, focused on conserving the natural and historical environment of the C&O Canal and the Potomac River Basin. This vital work is carried out in collaboration with the National Park Service to promote the 184-mile towpath.
