The Cherokee Strip Community Foundation was established in 2000 to enhance the quality of life for residents of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma. Initially funded by a $1.8 million challenge match from the Sisters of Mercy, the foundation has grown to acquire over $32 million in assets, distributing more than $1 million in grants and scholarships annually.
Over the past 22 years, the foundation has significantly improved community life through its annual distribution of over $1 million in grants and scholarships.
