In the early seventies, a dedicated group of individuals from various early childhood agencies came together to enhance child care quality in Chemung County. This collaboration led to the formation of the Chemung County Cooperative, which evolved into the Chemung County Child Care Council, Inc. in 1985. The Council has since expanded its reach, providing essential resources and support for parents and child care providers, while advocating for quality child care services in the community.
