Our Story

Founded by Michael McCoy in 2021, Chef to the Shelters began with a single Thanksgiving dinner delivery in Dallas, Texas. After finding sobriety in 2018, McCoy dedicated his life to serving those in recovery, providing meals that reflect dignity and respect. Today, the organization serves over 1200 meals monthly to 34 sober living homes and shelters, employing individuals in recovery through its catering business.
