Our Story

The Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) was founded in 1972 by passionate community activists and Wesleyan University students to tackle the critical lack of healthcare services for those in need. Starting in a modest converted apartment in Middletown, CT, CHC initially offered free dental care. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive healthcare provider, operating 16 primary care hubs and over 200 service locations across Connecticut, serving over 145,000 patients annually.

Impact

Since the onset of the pandemic, CHC has reached 730,000 individuals, administered 660,000 COVID-19 tests, and provided 550,000 vaccinations. The organization remains committed to delivering exceptional care to vulnerable communities, especially those disproportionately affected by the pandemic.
