About Charleston Men’s Chorus

Founded in 1990 by Alfred Pinckney, the Charleston Men’s Chorus has become a cherished part of the Lowcountry arts community. With approximately 65 dedicated members, this independent nonprofit organization is renowned for its annual Christmas Concert at the Sottile Theatre and its performances during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, particularly the Memorial Day concert at St. Philip’s Church. The chorus not only entertains but also serves a vital role in promoting choral music awareness among both amateurs and aspiring professionals.

Impact on Music Education

Since 2000, the chorus has successfully funded multiple music scholarships for students at local colleges, significantly contributing to the development of musical talent in the region.
