The Charleston City Rowing Club began as Raptor Youth Rowing in 2007, initiated by passionate parents and students at Academic Magnet High School. This effort led to the establishment of the first youth rowing team in the Charleston area. In 2012, local rowing enthusiasts formed the Charleston Community Rowing Club, and in 2014, these two organizations united to create the Charleston City Rowing Club, dedicated to fostering rowing for all ages.
