Charleston Area Medical Center Inc, established in 1972, emerged from the merger of Charleston General Hospital and Charleston Memorial Hospital. This community-based academic medical center has expanded its reach by acquiring additional facilities, including Kanawha Valley Hospital and Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, to enhance healthcare access in West Virginia.
