Our Story
The Charles Koiner Conservancy for Urban Farming (CKC) was established to protect Koiner Farm, an iconic urban farm in Silver Spring, MD, owned by Charles Koiner for nearly 40 years. CKC is dedicated to creating a network of neighborhood farms that support a sustainable and resilient food system in Montgomery County.
Our Impact
Since its inception, CKC has positively impacted the community by serving over 3,960 students through on-farm field trips, donating 12,520 pounds of fresh produce to those in need, and preserving 34,848 square feet of land from development.
Why Donate?
Your donation to CKC helps protect urban farms, provide fresh produce to food-insecure neighborhoods, and foster community engagement through educational programs. Every contribution inspires the next generation of sustainable farmers and food advocates.
