Our Story

Chapter 510 is a vibrant youth writing, bookmaking, and publishing center located in Oakland, California. This organization provides a safe and supportive community for Black, brown, and queer youth to express themselves through the art of writing.

Impact

Each year, Chapter 510 publishes over 20 youth-penned books, offering hundreds of young Oaklanders the chance to write poems, stories, and produce podcasts through its free programs.
