Our Story

The Channel Islands Maritime Museum, established in 1991, was born from the vision of Harry Nelson and Bud Smith to create a cultural asset at Channel Islands Harbor. Originally known as the Ventura County Maritime Museum, it was renamed in 2012 after relocating. The museum features a world-class collection of maritime art and ship models, showcasing over 3000 years of maritime history.
