Our Story
Changed Lives Ministry was founded in July 2003 by Pastor Mickey White, driven by a profound desire to assist men grappling with addiction. Initially known as the Santee Circle Community Church 'Motel Ministry,' the program began by providing shelter, food, and transportation to church for homeless men affected by addiction. As the need grew, the Wiggins family, owners of the Berkeley Motel, generously offered rooms and meals for over 25 men. Marvin Wiggins believed that even if just one man achieved successful rehabilitation, it would be worth the effort.
In August 2005, the Wiggins sold their property, prompting the ministry to relocate. After a brief stay at Tracy's Camp in Summerton, SC, the ministry found a temporary home at Calvary Baptist Church's pastoral house. During this transitional phase, Pastor Mickey White appointed Keith Griggs as Director, and together with the board, they sought divine guidance for the ministry's future. Through miraculous events, the current location off Reid Hill Road was established, thanks to generous donations and volunteers who constructed essential infrastructure at no cost to the ministry.
In June 2006, Changed Lives Ministry moved to its permanent location, continuing to grow and impact lives. The ministry was renamed to reflect its transformative focus, inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:17. In April 2010, the CLM Transitional House was launched, providing an extended program to support men’s successful reintegration into society while ensuring accountability.
Throughout its journey, Changed Lives Ministry has been a beacon of hope, guiding individuals struggling with addiction towards healing and transformation through spiritual guidance, practical assistance, and the unwavering support of mentors and counselors.
