Our Story

Founded in 2005, the Champaign Aviation Museum began with just three flatbeds of B-17 parts. Inspired by the restored B-17, Liberty Belle, the museum has become a center of excellence for B-17 restoration. The legacy of Jerry Shiffer, a pivotal figure in the museum's inception, continues through the dedication of his family and volunteers. This museum not only honors veterans but also preserves aviation history for future generations.

Impact

The Champaign Aviation Museum is committed to restoring WWII-era aircraft and providing hands-on learning experiences. Through education and preservation, the museum honors the sacrifices of veterans and their families.
