Our Story

Founded in 2008 by Doyle Mosher and Deirdre Groves, Challenge Detroit emerged to combat the outflow of young talent from Detroit and Michigan. The organization focuses on attracting and retaining diverse, innovative leaders who are committed to local initiatives. Since launching its first fellowship program in August 2012, Challenge Detroit has partnered with local nonprofits to address the city’s most pressing challenges through impactful social projects.
