Discover the Cradle of Forestry in America

Deep in the heart of Pisgah National Forest lies the Cradle of Forestry in America, the birthplace of modern forestry education in the United States. Established in 1898, the Biltmore Forest School paved the way for future generations to learn about and appreciate our natural resources. In 1972, the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association was formed to support the US Forest Service in operating the Visitor Center. Rebranded as FIND Outdoors in 2020, the organization now focuses on connecting people with nature through educational and recreational opportunities.

Making a Lasting Impact

FIND Outdoors provides vital educational, recreational, and interpretive opportunities that promote stewardship of natural resources and preserve forests for future generations.
