Our Story
Founded in 2003, Central Park School for Children (CPSC) is a pioneering educational institution in North Carolina, recognized as the first Project Based Learning public school and the first 'diverse-by-design' public charter school in the Southern United States. The visionaries behind CPSC, Vicky Patton and Bob Chapman, sought to integrate the values and child development goals of The Duke School into a public setting, emphasizing progressive, experiential learning.
Impact
CPSC's mission is to cultivate a nurturing, child-centered learning community where creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong love for learning flourish.
