Our Story

Founded in 2003, Central Park School for Children (CPSC) is a pioneering public charter school in Durham, North Carolina. As the first Project Based Learning public school in the state and the first 'diverse-by-design' charter school in the Southern United States, CPSC was established by Vicky Patton and Bob Chapman to create a nurturing educational environment that mirrors the values and pedagogy of The Duke School.

Impact

CPSC's mission is to ensure that all children thrive in a supportive community that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and adventure through project-based learning. The school fosters an environment where children can explore, understand, and change the world around them.

Why Donate?
