Our Story

Founded in 1989, the Central Maryland Heritage League is dedicated to preserving the rich cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the Middletown Valley. Originally established as a battlefield protection group, the organization has evolved to focus on the conservation and stewardship of significant resources surrounding the South Mountain State Battlefield.

Impact

The Central Maryland Heritage League has successfully acquired Dahlgren Chapel and holds easements on several properties, ensuring their preservation for future generations. Educational initiatives promote awareness of the region's cultural and natural heritage.
