Founded in 1999 by artistic director Suzann DeLay, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble is dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Central Indiana. This organization provides aspiring young dancers with a pre-professional environment to learn, practice, and perform various dance forms. Annually, CIDE presents a full-length production of The Nutcracker and offers performances to local Girl Scouts and children's organizations, fostering a love for the arts.
Members of Central Indiana Dance Ensemble have earned scholarships to prestigious institutions such as Boston Ballet and Joffrey Ballet. Graduates have successfully joined renowned ballet companies, showcasing the effectiveness of CIDE's training programs.
As a private non-profit organization, CIDE relies on community support to bring productions to life. Ticket sales cover only a fraction of production costs, and donations help fund costumes, scenery, theater space, technicians, guest artists, and music.
