Central Caribbean Marine Institute Inc (CCMI) envisions a world with vibrant oceans and healthy coral reefs. Founded in 1998, this premier marine research institute is dedicated to conducting and facilitating research, education, and outreach to sustain marine diversity for future generations.
Impact
CCMI has established a coral nursery and launched the Coral Reef Early Warning System, achieving an impressive 89% success rate in coral restoration efforts. The organization also developed a coral restoration handbook to aid local and international managers.
