Our Story
Founded in 1999, Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium, Inc. is a vibrant collective of patrons, entertainment venues, faith-based institutions, community organizations, and musicians. Established by community activists, educators, and musicians, CBJC is dedicated to preserving jazz and the rich culture of Central Brooklyn. The consortium recognizes the invaluable contributions of artists in perpetuating culture while promoting the dignity of the community. With a focus on affordable and accessible programs, CBJC aims to keep the spirit of jazz alive in underserved neighborhoods.
