Our Story

Established in 1989, Central Arizona Land Trust was formed in response to community concerns about the development threatening Thumb Butte, a cherished landmark in Prescott, Arizona. As the first local land trust in northern Arizona, CALT is dedicated to protecting open spaces and landscapes through conservation easements.

Impact

With over 6,000 acres protected, CALT plays a vital role in preserving important landscapes, wildlife habitats, and agricultural lands in central Arizona. These efforts contribute to the long-term health and stability of local communities and ecosystems.
