Our Story

Founded in 1978 by Dorothea J. Heinrich and a group of dedicated friends, the Center of Concern emerged from a community need for support services for seniors and their caregivers. Originally known as the Office of Ombudsman for Park Ridge, the organization has evolved to provide essential housing solutions, counseling, and support services for older adults and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they can live with dignity and independence.

Impact

Each year, the Center of Concern delivers over 12,000 services, helping vulnerable populations overcome hardships and maintain their independence. The organization has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Governor’s Home Town Award for its commitment to senior involvement and volunteerism.
