Our Story
Founded in 1977 as a project of the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, the Center for the Advocacy for the Rights & Interests of the Elderly (CARIE) emerged from a coalition dedicated to improving the quality of care for frail elders. By 1979, CARIE became a 501(c)(3) organization, establishing a helpline that continues to serve as a vital resource for elders, caregivers, and professionals seeking assistance with long-term care, elder abuse, and access to essential services.
