Our Story

Founded in 1972, the Center for Human Development (CHD) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in Contra Costa County. With the support of dedicated staff and hundreds of volunteers, CHD has positively impacted over 14,000 at-risk youth and community members.

CHD focuses on prevention and wellness through various programs that tackle pressing community issues such as teen substance use, community violence, and healthcare access.
