In the summer of 1977, along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, a group of clinical social workers began an informal gathering to explore Bowen family systems theory. This collaboration led to the establishment of the Center for Family Consultation in 1979, expanding its faculty and programs to enhance understanding and application of this vital theory across various professional fields.
