Our Story

Founded in 1981 by Sister Faye Huelsmann and Sister Pat Lewter, the Counseling and Education Center (CEC) began as a vision to create an affordable counseling center for individuals and families in Mesa County. With initial funding from the St. Joseph Foundation, CEC has evolved over the years, merging with other nonprofits to enhance its service delivery. Today, it stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to providing professional, affordable counseling services to all, regardless of income or insurance status.

Impact

For over 42 years, CEC has been committed to ensuring that everyone has access to mental wellbeing through professional counseling services. The organization focuses on accessibility and affordability, making a significant difference in the lives of individuals and families in the community.
