Our Story

The Center for Documentary Expression and Art (CDEA) began in 1983 as the Oral History Institute, dedicated to preserving the rich narratives of Utah’s ethnic and minority groups. Over the years, CDEA has expanded its mission to include impactful traveling exhibits and educational programs that foster cultural dialogue.

Impact

CDEA has successfully created numerous documentary projects that honor the diverse identities of various populations, including a significant photography exhibit on the civil rights movement.
