Empowering Maternal Health

Her Health First has been dedicated to lowering the infant mortality rate and enhancing pregnancy experiences for African American residents in Sacramento County since 1988. Through the Black Mothers United program, culturally sensitive support services are provided to over 900 pregnant community members.

Impacting Lives

Since the program’s inception, there have been zero maternal deaths among participants. In a region where African American infants face a higher mortality rate, the program has achieved zero infant deaths for the last three years.
