Since 1989, the Center for Changing Lives (CCL) has been dedicated to addressing the needs of individuals and families facing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes. Originating from the outreach ministry of the Humboldt Park United Methodist Church, CCL has evolved to provide innovative solutions that connect people with essential resources and opportunities. By fostering a community where everyone can thrive, CCL empowers households to uncover possibilities and overcome barriers.

Making a Significant Impact

In 2023, CCL supported five BIPOC-owned small businesses in obtaining their LLCs, assisted 450 households with rental assistance, and served over 900 individuals through personalized counseling and workshops. This represents a remarkable 130% increase from the previous year, with members experiencing an average net worth increase of $11,351 and a credit score boost of 59 points.
