In 2010, the city of Antioch faced a setback when funding for the 4th of July parade and fireworks was cut. A dedicated group of volunteers stepped in, reviving the parade in 2011 through private donations and successfully reintroducing the fireworks in 2012. This grassroots effort led to the formation of the Celebrate Antioch Foundation in 2013, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit aimed at enhancing community celebrations.
The Celebrate Antioch Foundation has played a pivotal role in organizing annual events that promote multicultural engagement and improve the quality of life for residents in Antioch and East Contra Costa County.
