Our Story

Cedille Records was founded in 1989 by James Ginsburg to provide a dedicated recording home for local musicians. Transitioning to a not-for-profit in 1994, the organization has since focused on producing high-quality recordings and ambitious projects that elevate Chicago's classical music scene.
