Cedar Tree School

Our Story

Founded in 1997 at the Hazel Dell Evangelical Free Church in Vancouver, Washington, Cedar Tree A Non Profit Organization emerged from a collective desire among local families to explore the education of their children through a biblical lens. This journey led to the establishment of Cedar Tree School, which opened its doors in September 1999 with just over 30 students. Inspired by the teachings of Dorothy Sayers and Douglas Wilson, the school was built on the belief that parents hold the primary responsibility for their children's education.

The name "Cedar Tree" reflects a commitment to nurturing growth and flourishing in accordance with Psalm 92:12-15. Since its inception, Cedar Tree has expanded significantly, relocating to a beautiful 15-acre campus in 2008 and achieving full accreditation with the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) in 2012. The school has continually enhanced its facilities, adding classroom buildings, a covered play area, and a 400-person assembly hall, all while maintaining a focus on academic excellence.

Impact

Cedar Tree has positively impacted families from various congregations across southwest Washington, consistently achieving SAT scores that average over 350 points above the national average. This commitment to high academic standards ensures that students are well-prepared for future challenges.
