Our Story
In 1986, a vision was born when community members approached Ms. Betty Wright to establish a senior center. With nearly 60 passionate individuals gathered, a house on West Main Street was transformed into a welcoming space. Through the generosity of volunteers and local businesses, Cedar Seniors began serving warm, hearty meals, charging just $1.00 a bowl. This initial support laid the foundation for a thriving community hub. Over the years, donations of furniture, groceries, and financial contributions enabled Cedar Seniors to purchase its current building on University Avenue, where a rich array of programs flourishes today.
