Our Story

Established in 1968, the People's Center Clinics & Services began as Minnesota's first free medical clinic, transforming a chapel into a vital healthcare resource. Over the years, it has evolved into a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), expanding its services to include dental and behavioral health care. Today, it serves over 9,000 patients annually, addressing the diverse healthcare needs of the community in South Minneapolis and surrounding areas.

In 2022, the People's Center recorded 22,662 visits, providing essential medical, dental, and behavioral health services. With a patient satisfaction rate of 92.9% for appointment access, the center emphasizes preventive care, successfully managing chronic conditions like diabetes and asthma.
