Our Story

Founded in 2004 by Ellen Miles in Maywood, Illinois, CatVando began as a grassroots effort to help free-roaming cats in the community. Starting with just a few cats, the organization has grown to manage over 700 registered feral cat colonies, focusing on humane management and education about Trap Neuter Return (TNR) methods.

Impact

CatVando has successfully TNR’d over 700 feral cat colonies, providing a humane solution to the street cat population issue. The organization also offers medical assistance and care for sick and injured cats, significantly improving the lives of both the cats and their caregivers.
