Our Story
Catonsville Emergency Assistance Inc began over 35 years ago, inspired by the compassionate efforts of Alice March, a dedicated church member. Starting from her home, Alice began helping families in need, which led to the formation of the Catonsville Emergency Food Network. As the community rallied around her cause, seventeen local churches joined forces to expand the initiative. In 1986, operations moved to the Old Catonsville Elementary School, and in 1988, the organization was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The partnership with the Rotary Club of Catonsville Sunrise in 2003 further strengthened the organization, allowing for improved financial practices. In 2005, thanks to generous donations, a permanent location was secured at 25 Bloomsbury Avenue, ensuring a stable foundation for ongoing support.
