Our Story

Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. was established in 1984 to serve the ten counties of the Diocese of Venice in Florida. Founded under the leadership of the first Bishop, Most Reverend John J. Nevins, the organization addresses the needs of individuals and families living in poverty and the most vulnerable members of the community. Over the years, it has expanded its services and impact, particularly in response to disasters and social injustices, while remaining committed to serving all in need, regardless of race, nationality, or religion.

Impact

In its mission, Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice has provided essential services to over 195,000 individuals through food and pantry services, education, and support for victims of human trafficking. The organization empowers individuals toward self-sufficiency and has significantly increased its outreach and impact, especially following disaster response efforts.
