Our Story

Established in 1977 after the tragic fire that destroyed the Episcopal Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Cathedral Square Corporation emerged from a vision to utilize excess land for a noble cause. This initiative led to the creation of Vermont's first affordable multifamily residence for older adults, addressing a critical need in Burlington, Vermont. Over the years, Cathedral Square has expanded its mission, now operating 27 housing communities and offering a variety of services, including the innovative SASH® program that promotes health and wellness for residents.

The organization has pioneered programs like SASH®, which not only enhance health outcomes but also reduce medical expenses for participants, ensuring that low-income individuals and families receive the support they need.
