Our Story
Founded in 1993 by Gail Weltsek and a dedicated group at St. John’s Cathedral, the Cathedral Arts Project (CAP) began with a single dance class for 10 children at a transitional housing facility. Over the years, CAP has expanded its offerings to include a variety of arts education programs, including dance, visual arts, music, and theatre, serving over 33,000 students.
Impact
CAP has provided transformative arts experiences to thousands of students each year, helping them find their voice and passion. In the 2023-2024 year alone, CAP reached 3,673 students through 276 programs at 65 sites, demonstrating its significant impact on the community.
