Founded in 1988 by Kathy Blackwell, Cat Guardians, Inc. is a dedicated no-kill shelter located in Lombard, Illinois. Over the years, this compassionate organization has successfully matched over 2000 abandoned and stray cats with loving families. The shelter operates from a charming two-story white clapboard house, where cats roam freely, enjoying a cageless environment that promotes their well-being.

Our Commitment to Cats

At Cat Guardians, the focus is on the rescue and rehabilitation of cats in need. With a strict no-euthanasia policy, the shelter provides a safe haven for felines that may be deemed 'unadoptable' due to age, medical conditions, or socialization issues. Currently, around 50 cats and a rotating population of kittens call Cat Guardians home, receiving the love and care they deserve.
