Our Story

Founded in 2013 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, Casa San José serves as a vital resource center for the Latino community in Pittsburgh. With a dedicated staff of 24 and over 100 active volunteers, this nonprofit organization was established to support the growing Latino population in the region. Sister Janice Vanderneck, who has devoted 20 years to serving this community, envisioned a welcoming space where immigrants could access the services they need. Casa San José has become that trusted source of support, helping underserved Latino immigrants navigate their new lives.

Our Impact

Casa San José provides essential resources such as weekly clinics, food pantries, summer camps, and community meetings, ensuring that the Latino community has access to the support they need.
