Advocacy For Abused And Neglected Children
Providing A Voice In Legal Proceedings
Breaking The Cycle Of Abuse And Neglect

Our Story

Founded in 1987, CASA of Washington County Indiana emerged from the urgent need for a voice for abused and neglected children during legal proceedings. The heart of this organization lies in its dedicated Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers. These highly-trained individuals are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children, collaborating with legal professionals, social workers, and educators to ensure informed judicial decisions. CASA volunteers remain committed to each case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.

Impact

CASA volunteers uniquely support some of the most vulnerable children in our community. Their unwavering commitment and advocacy provide hope where it is often lacking. An impressive 98% of Indiana judges agree that children and families benefit significantly from the involvement of CASA volunteers. Children with a CASA advocate are more likely to receive essential services such as therapy, healthcare, and education, while also being less likely to re-enter the child welfare system.
