Our Story

CASA of Wyoming Valley, formerly known as CASA of Luzerne County, is a dedicated child advocacy organization established in 2013. Located in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties, this nonprofit recruits, trains, and supports community volunteers to serve as the voice for abused and neglected foster children in the court system. In July 2024, the organization expanded its services to include advocacy for children in Wyoming County, reflecting its growth and commitment to the community.

Impact

Since its inception, over 300 children in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties have been matched with a CASA volunteer. Children assigned a CASA volunteer are half as likely to re-enter foster care, spend less time in foster care, and perform better in school.
