Our Story
CASA of Central Texas, Inc. is part of a national volunteer movement that began in 1977 when Judge David Soukup in Seattle sought to understand the lives of children in his court. He enlisted community volunteers to serve as a 'voice in court' for abused and neglected children. This innovative approach provided essential information to safeguard the best interests of these vulnerable children, ensuring they found safe, permanent homes swiftly. Established in 1985, CASA of Central Texas serves Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties, continuing this vital mission.
Our Impact
CASA of Central Texas recruits, trains, and supports dedicated volunteer advocates who speak on behalf of children in foster care. As part of a nationwide network with 939 chapters across 49 states, CASA serves over 242,000 children annually, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
