Carter G. Woodson School was founded in 1997 by Attorney Hazel Mack, driven by a vision to provide better educational choices for her daughter and the children of Winston-Salem, NC. Named after Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the founder of Black History Month, the school reflects a commitment to honoring African American heritage and fostering a nurturing educational environment.
